The Police Zone of Montgomery wishes to improve the security in particular and sensitive areas on its territory, which covers the communes of Etterbeek, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and Woluwe-Saint-Pierre.
In order to achieve this, the Police Zone issued a call for tenders for the following : « Delivery, installation, configuration, test, commissioning and maintenance of a capture network, transmission via wireless links and visualization of images filmed on public roads within the Zone covered by the Police of Montgomery". After a detailed analysis of the different submissions, the project was attributed to Tein Telecom for the sum of € 925.000 TVAC.
This project will allow the Police Zone to visualize and manage 25 new cameras and 20 existing cameras spread over the territory of the three communes. These surveillance operations will be carried out from the dispatching situated in "Avenue de la Force Aérienne" in Etterbeek.
To this effect, Tein Telecom will deploy a viable solution, of a high and proven quality, which reposes on the following strong points :
- A thorough study of the implementation sites of the cameras
- The management system SightVisionTM, developed by Tein Telecom
- A wireless network composed of a high performing backbone and of reliable access links
- A simple and effective integration of the existing infrastructure in the commune of Etterbeek
- A vast experience in the deployment of urban video surveillance solutions and of wireless networks
The application suite SightVisionTM is at the heart of the video surveillance system put into place to be used by the operators and inspectors of the dispatching. SightVisionTM allows the operators to select the cameras on a map of the monitored area in an intuitive manner and to visualize the images on one of the large overview screens, or on the monitor placed next to the operator. The management of incidents in real time by the operators is also significantly facilitated by the availability of standardized forms to which photos or video clips related to the incident can be attached.
The installation phase begins in January 2012 in order to ensure an operational system before the summer of 2012.
